On September 28, 2026, Marion County Public Safety (MCPS) suffered a heartbreaking loss with the passing of Eric Lamb in a tragic car accident.

Eric was an amazing friend, brother, uncle, and son. To those of us who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him, he was so much more than a colleague. He was part of our Communication Center family.

Eric was a hardworking and dedicated dispatcher who gave his time and energy to helping the citizens of Marion County and supporting his fellow colleagues. He was devoted to the headset, always ready to answer the call and make a difference when people needed help the most.

Our Communication Center feels a little darker without him, and there is an empty chair where a friend and brother once sat.

Please keep Eric's family, friends, and our entire MCPS Communication Center family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Rest easy, Eric. Your service, friendship, and the difference you made will not be forgotten. 💛
