In Memory of Rita
To her nieces, nephews, and closest friends, she was known as “RiRi,” a name spoken with love and familiarity.
Rita was preceded in death by her three unborn children; her father, James Milton Coleman; and her mother-in-law, MaryLynn Moan.
She is survived by her faithful, loving, and devoted husband, Russell; her son, Michael “Gauge” Coleman and his wife, Cassia; her son, Mason Thomas Dart (Kira); her mother, Delia “Dee” Coleman; her brother, Sean Firkin and his wife, Rebecca, and their children, Hannah and Hayden; her sister, Jennifer Jackson and her husband, Eric, and their children, Brooklyn, John, and Caleb; all of Warner Robins, Georgia; her aunt, Sandra “Kiki” Campbell and her husband, Gregory Campbell, of Chester, Virginia.
She is also survived by her very best friend, BJ Hogsett, and her husband, Tony, of Perry, Georgia; their daughter, Logan Hughes and her husband Hunter; their son; and Tony and BJ’s granddaughters whom they lovingly raised.
Rita relocated to Georgia with her family in 1983, where she spent the majority of her life.
She dedicated much of her career to serving others as a 911 dispatcher, reflecting her strong sense of responsibility and her servant’s heart.
Rita just loved helping people and her work was a testament to her selflessness and deep sense of responsibility to her community.
Rita shared ten years of marriage with Ron Dart, with whom she shared her son, Mason.
Rita will be remembered for her strength, integrity, and the way she loved her family and friends. We could always count on her when we were in trouble and that she will never be forgotten. She faced life with resilience and determination, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew her.
