They were the calm voice in someone else's worst moment. They carried stories few people ever heard and burdens few people ever saw. This space honors the dispatchers and telecommunicators we lost too soon - and ensures that their service, their lives, and their impact are never forgotten.

In Memory of Ronnie
Ronald “Ronnie” Scott Huth understood something about emergency communications that can be difficult to explain to someone who has never worn the headset:
You don't have to be seen as a hero.
Sometimes, you are simply heard.
Ronnie served as a 911 dispatcher for the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. Before entering emergency communications, he had also served as an EMT.
Helping people wasn't simply his occupation. It was woven throughout his life.
Ronnie cared deeply about the 911 profession and the people working within it. He shared his experience with others and advocated for ways technology could improve emergency communications and better support those behind the headset.
In November of 2025 – Ron was featured in a story by WKMG where is spoke about a 911 call where he was able to instruct a father on how to perform the Heimlich maneuver on a three-year old, saving the child’s life. “There is nothing like saving somebody’s life over the phone.” Ron told the report.
His story was also one of love.
Ronnie and his wife, Jacqueline, first dated in high school. Life eventually took them in different directions before bringing them back together decades later.
They reconnected in 2014, married, and shared 11 years together as husband and wife before Ronnie died at age 59.
His obituary described him in words that beautifully captured the role of a 911 dispatcher:
A hero who wasn't seen but heard.
On August 1, 2026, Ronnie's voice behind the headset fell silent.
But the people he helped, the dispatchers he supported, the family who loved him, & the profession he worked to improve remain part of his legacy.
Nasteha Beinah
September 7, 1996 – June 10, 2026

Nasteha Beinah was only 29 years old when she died suddenly on June 10, 2026.
In 2023, Nasteha joined Toronto Fire Services as a Call-Taker/Dispatcher in the Communications Division. Her work placed her at the beginning of an emergency response - answering the call, gathering critical information, and helping get firefighters and resources moving toward people who needed them.
Her service, however, extended beyond the communications center.
Just months before her death, Nasteha participated in a CityNews story about Toronto Fire Services' efforts to increase Black representation within the fire service. She spoke about the importance of people seeing themselves represented throughout the profession.
Nasteha understood that sometimes all it takes is seeing someone who looks like you doing a job to realize that you can do it too.
She was building a career in public safety while helping others imagine a future for themselves within it.
Behind every call she answered was a person experiencing an emergency. Most of those people would never know Nasteha's name. They would never see her face or know anything about the woman helping coordinate their response.
They simply knew someone answered.
Nasteha was that someone.
Her career was only beginning. At 29 years old, there should have been decades of calls, friendships, accomplishments, laughter, and life still ahead of her.
Her colleagues remembered her as a respected member of the Toronto Fire Services family.
Nasteha's time behind the headset may have been short, but the measure of service isn't simply how many years someone occupies a chair.
It's the people they helped while sitting in it.
Nasteha Beinah answered when her community called. Now it is our responsibility to make sure her name is remembered.
Alicia Nicole Fidler
End of Watch: May 21, 2026

In Memory of Alicia
Alicia Nicole Fidler was only 27 years old when she died unexpectedly on May 21, 2026.
Despite her young age, Alicia had already dedicated herself to the world of 911.
She served as a dispatcher with the Hartford Police Department & later the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
But Alicia was so much more than the voice behind a radio.
She loved Wisconsin sports and cheered for the Brewers, Bucks, and Packers. She loved Star Wars, hiking, hunting, spending time at the beach, and cooking for the people she loved.
She wasn't afraid of an adventure, either. Her hunting experiences included deer, bear, and even alligator.
Yet among everything Alicia enjoyed and accomplished, nothing compared with being a mother.
Her children, Eleanor and Obi, were described as the greatest joy in her life.
That matters when we remember Alicia.
Because a memorial should never reduce someone to the headset they wore.
Alicia was a dispatcher.
But she was also a daughter, sister, partner, friend & Mom.
She spent her professional life helping protect people she might never meet.
At home, Eleanor & Obi were her world.
Alicia's story should have had decades of chapters still waiting to be written.
We cannot write those chapters for her. We can make certain the chapters she gave us are never forgotten.
Allyssa Rose Dow — Anangookwe
End of Watch: April 11, 2026

In Memory of Allyssa
Allyssa Rose Dow was only 22 years old when her journey to the spirit world began on April 11, 2026.
Her Ojibwe name was Anangookwe - Star Woman, and she belonged to the Owaazisii — Bullhead Clan.
At an age when many people are still deciding what direction their lives will take, Allyssa had already chosen service.
She worked as a Telecommunications Officer for the Red Lake Department of Public Safety, becoming one of the voices her community could depend upon when someone needed help.
But the headset was only part of Allyssa's story.
She loved drawing and was learning traditional skills including beading and sewing. She was remembered as someone who seemed naturally talented at whatever she decided to try.
More importantly, Allyssa had a gift that cannot be taught in any academy or training program.
She made people feel included.
She cared about the people around her and did not want anyone to feel left out.
Her coworkers at the Red Lake Department of Public Safety were named among her honorary pallbearers - a reflection of the family she had built through her service.
Twenty-two years was far too short.
But Allyssa left behind something powerful.
Star Woman served her community. She made people feel seen. And her light will continue to be remembered.
Samantha Renee Allen
End of Watch: April 6, 2026
Nashua Fire Rescue – Fire Alarm | New Hampshire
In Memory of Samantha
Samantha Renee Allen was only 32 years old when she died on April 6, 2026.
Yet Samantha had already built a career dedicated to serving her community.
She began working for the City of Nashua in 2019 in parking enforcement. In August 2023, Samantha joined Nashua Fire Rescue as a Fire Alarm Operator.
She found her place behind the headset.
Her professionalism, compassion, and dedication quickly became apparent. Less than two years after joining Fire Alarm, Samantha was promoted to Fire Alarm Supervisor.
She also served her coworkers as the IAFF Local 789 steward for the Fire Alarm Division.
But there was another side of Samantha's life that mattered infinitely more than titles or promotions.
She was Mom.
Samantha was the proud mother of Gabriella and Adrianna, who were just 13 and 11 when they lost their mother.
Thirty-two years was nowhere near enough.
But within those years Samantha became a mother, public servant, dispatcher, supervisor, advocate, coworker, & friend.
Another person may eventually sit at her console.
There will never be another Samantha Allen.
Nakeya Reneé Farrar

In Memory of Nakeya
Nakeya Reneé Farrar was born December 28, 1983, in Durham, North Carolina. On March 2, 2026, her life ended far too soon at just 42 years old.
Behind every name we place on this memorial is a person whose life extended far beyond the communications center. Nakeya was a daughter, loved one, friend, coworker, & member of her community.
She was also one of the voices behind the headset - part of a profession built around being there when someone else needs help.
In emergency communications, we often remember people by their voice. A voice answering the phone. A voice on the radio. A voice reassuring someone during one of the worst moments of their life.
When that voice disappears, the entire communications center feels the silence.
Nakeya's service & her life deserve to be remembered.
Her shift may have ended, but her name will not be forgotten.
